Change

I've started going to a new church. One that I'll most likely stay at for a long time. I know people there which should make the transition a little bit easier. I already terribly miss seeing the same faces on Sunday. I can say that it's not easy being a newcomer to a new church. Just feels like you don't belong. But before you know it it's going to be January... a new year, out with the old, in with the new.

I'm actually kind of apprehensive about the upcoming Disneyland half-marathon. They are forecasting very hot weather for that day. My body did not react well at all to heat this past race, so I'm thinking that I'm going to have to take it easy.

America's Finest City Half Marathon

I made it, but it was definitely a struggle to the finish line! It was close to 80 degrees at the starting line at 7am. Tried to run my regular pace of 9 min miles. Held it for about 6 miles before the heart started feeling weird. So I slowed down and started walking more and more, drinking water while dumping water on head at every water station. Last year I did it in 2:07:33. This year I finished in a rather disappointing 2:13:46, but glad to be alive! =) Not sure if I want to do the half marathon triple crown again next year. I'm sure the itch will return soon enough. Went to see the Dead Sea scrolls exhibit later in the day. Pretty interesting stuff. I would very much like to visit Israel one of these days. My next race will be at Disneyland, the day after my birthday! Call me crazy, but I can't find a better way to celebrate another year of life!

Death of the Xanga

Wow, I must say that Xanga had its day in the sun. It was good while it lasted. I will post all of my racing news and such here from now on.

I will be running a half marathon this coming Sunday in San Diego. It looks like it's going to be a hot day, but I'll be done by 9am so I'm not too worried. Really looking forward to seeing the Dead Sea Scrolls after the race in the San Diego Natural History Museum.
